UBIQTRA is built to keep your training yours. Most of what you enter never leaves your phone. If you back it up, it goes to an account only you can read. We don't sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
Who we are
UBIQTRA is a fitness app at ubiqtra.com, run from the United Kingdom. For anything about your data, email hello@ubiqtra.com.
What stays on your phone
Your profile, plan, check-ins, sessions, runs and routes, classes, food log, weigh-ins, notes and answers to Ubiq are saved in your browser's storage on your device. Without an account, none of it is sent to us.
If you create an account and back up
- We use your email address to sign you in with a six-digit code. The code emails are sent by our email provider, Resend.
- If you agree to backup, a copy of your app data is stored in your account with Supabase, in London. Database rules mean only you can read your rows.
- Backup can include health information, such as sleep, readiness, injuries, pregnancy, weight, food and, only if you turn it on, cycle tracking. We only store it with your explicit consent, which you give in the app and can withdraw.
- Eat asks for its own consent before it saves anything, because food choices can show health or beliefs.
Optional morning notification
If you turn it on, we store your notification subscription (a technical address from your browser) and the time you chose, so we can send at most one message a day. Messages pass through your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla). You can turn it off any time.
Services your phone talks to
- Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode, only the barcode number is sent, to look the product up.
- OpenStreetMap (Overpass and Nominatim): when you search Near you, the area you searched is sent to find places. Some searches go through our own server first.
- Google Fonts: the app's typeface is loaded from Google, which receives your IP address when it loads.
- Our hosting (Lovable, on Cloudflare) serves the app and keeps standard technical logs. If the app hits an error, a technical report (the error and the page) may be sent so we can fix it.
Why we use it
To run the app you asked for: building and adjusting your plan, showing your progress, backing up your data, and sending the codes and notifications you turned on. Health information is used only with your explicit consent. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Data on your phone stays until you delete it. Backed-up data stays until you delete it or your account. "Delete account" in the app removes your account and everything stored in it.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent and object to how we use it. Much of this is built in: Profile → Account to delete your account, Eat's settings to delete everything in Eat, and What Ubiq knows to see, correct or forget what Ubiq has learned. For anything else, email hello@ubiqtra.com and we'll reply within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
UBIQTRA isn't for children under 13. Teenagers get safer settings (for example, Eat never sets a calorie cut for anyone under 18).
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and tell you in the app before it affects you.
